Simplice SOMI is a Congolese expressionist painter known for his large portraits that highlight the fashion between man and beauty. He frequently includes elements of nature and cultural symbols in his works. Despite the enormous challenges of life in his native country, Somi’s paintings highlight the inherent beauty of his artistic vision, where nothing can dissociate the nature of the human being. Somi is a graduate of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Kinshasa.
