Chéri Cherin is one of the father’s of contemporary Congolese art and most recognized artists working today in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). His paintings frequently focus on current socio-political issues and the challenges and joys of everyday life. He frequently uses humor in his paintings to reflect universal themes. Numerous Congolese artists have studied in Cherin’s atelier.
