Spirit dancers, known as Munganji, are Pende dancers from the western province of Kwilu (formally Bandundu) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who perform at initiation ceremonies and other events wearing full-body costumes made from raffia. The region is known for its arts, including masks and dance.
